it seems that dapayk used to listen to a lot of hip-hop when he was younger. his latest ep for still vor talent >let go< has got these influences written all over it. the title track starts out with a male vocal and some sounds that sound a little like scratching before things then quickly head into the direction of the club. the vocal by singer camara could not be more reminiscent of 80s house music and this track has got all the soul and groove of this era. beneath the delicate vocal and sound patterns lies a wonderfully simply staccato house groove that is sure to get everyone shuffling. on the flip things get a little more techy with >nneka<, a deeper and more melodic tech house glider that gently takes the listener towards a harmonic state of mind. beautifully arpeggiated pads, a warm soulful groove and some reverbed vocals make this one. last up is the sample-based tech-house stomper >upyo< featuring production partner jon hester. this is loop heaven: a pushy beat loop with many snares, reverse samples and an unexpected saxophone melody make this one the perfect changeover track from warm-up to peak-time. this ep shows dapayks skills to combine many musical influences into his unique still of tech-house music

the title track >juneau< comes at you with force, grace and a warm low end perfect for a late night or an early morning. pier bucci and crazy larry aka glacier really work the knobs and controls to create a melodic yet refined sound. this is definitely the most emotional track on the release, usually evoking quite a response from the dance floor. play this at the right time and you will have a smile on your face for sure.

to kick-start the fina campaign we literally hunted high and low to find an artist and sound that we felt would represent us and give a statement of intent. what we didnt expect was for this search to take us south of the equator and into to the deep southern hemisphere. this is not the first place that you would expect to hear warm, deep underground house but this is exactly what you get with the melbourne based mic newman. and thinking about it, it doesnt get warmer or deeper than melbourne does it? mic is a young producer who we believe is destined for greatness. at the age of 29, hes already had a string of underground smashes on labels such as murmur, tsuba, dirt crew, freerange, and now for fina records. the intriguingly named live east, die young ep (mic riffing on his time spent living in london) sees what mic doing what he does best and demonstrates why his future is so bright. on die young, the tougher a-side, mic keeps the beats solid, and the groove tight and hypnotic, while the smooth chord stabs get right under your skin. prolonged foot tapping ensues. on the flip side, live east, mic takes it a little deeper with ever so subtle disco touches. the vocal sample asks what your name is and to take off your jacket as if to welcome you to a very messy after hours on this mcde-esque low-slung house groove. on remix duty, the on-form jacques renault and marcos cabral aka runaway, lift the track out of the south hemisphere and take it in a north easterly direction all the way to the caribbean – adding plenty of steel drums and pads on their interpretation of live east

ldr returns with the labels first various artists release, four house expressions - from four cutting edge producers. dublin based italian producer, lerosa opens the ep with longing…a warm, proficiently produced electronic house cut as always from the adopted dubliner. smooth percussion and synth sounds layered and arranged to perfection while still keeping that free-flowing lerosa style. rotterdams mark du mosch delivers an uplifting house / techno influenced workout blessings. re­fined percussion and wonderful space-synth soundscapes alongside a driving bassline that will get the dancefloor moving for sure! glaswegian meschi debuts with concrete island , the london based producer delivers a blissful deep house track. a laidback rhythmical production that just gets better and better throughout, with clever arrangements of elements including a classic voice sample and a soothing and delicate piano line. wicklows automatic tasty concludes the ep with another killer analogue jam, 707 percussion, a rail­way raver-esque bassline, and ats trademark pads and synth melodies combine to make >welcome ohm luv< another classic from the machines of mr.tasty

need to warm up? want to dance and you love house music? then your gonna to love this track. david guettas ability to supply a proper dance-pop stonker again evident with whos that chick. feel the adrenaline / moving under my skin / its an addiction, the barbadian songbird rihanna hollers over bolshy beats and swaggering synths, the studio trickery on her nonchalant vocals feeling colder than an ice pop on a snowy day. its a good job, then, that bopping along to this - and warming yourself up in the process - is pretty much impossible to resist.

following on from their last two sell out eps, foto recordings (run by ali ooft!) enlist the talents of deep space orchestra for release number three in the catologue. first up >riding in my imaginary jeep< showcases their trademark old synths/modern production aesthetic to full effect, taking in classic drum machines and warm synth lines to produce an epic piece of deep house. second track >sir shina< sees them doing some deft sample-manipution with a big chugging midtempo jam the result. ooft! meanwhile give >riding< the once-over, beefing up the low end whilst retaining most of the musical parts.
